Difference of piston compressors and diaphragm

Disadvantages of piston compressors:

1.The gas is easily contaminated by wear particles such as piston rings, support rings, and fillers.

2.The sealing of the gas in the cylinder needs to be completed by the filler, and the piston rod and the packing are dynamically sealed, and the gas is easy to leak. For example, when the high pressure is compressed, the manufacturing process level is required to be high.

3.The equipment is running with vibration and noise.

4.There are many wearing parts and the cost of subsequent maintenance and operation is high.


Advantages of diaphragm compressors:

1.The gas does not come into contact with the transmission components and the gas will not be contaminated. The quality of the products produced by the users is guaranteed.

2.The working chamber of the cylinder is composed of the diaphragm and the curved surface of the cylinder head. It is a static seal and there is no leakage of gas. It can easily reach high pressure.

 

3.The transmission part is compressed hydraulic oil, and the equipment has low vibration and low noise.

4.There are few consumables, mainly diaphragms. Subsequent maintenance and operation costs are low.

 

 Note: 

China's national medical standards stipulate that piston compressors should not be used for oxygen pressurization and filling processes. Diaphragm compressors are recommended. There are similar regulations for medical standards in different regions of the world.
